Milton : John Milton (1608-1674), silver tongued poet, blind author of Paradise Lost, and defender of the principle of government by consent.
Cromwell : Oliver Cromwell (1599-1658), Lord Protector of England from 1653 to 1658, and a highly successful general in the Parliamentarian army.
